It’s that time of year again. Another year of video game douchebaggery, and we have another collection of 10 posts that performed well over the course of the year. This list is purely based on traffic, no other things were taken into consideration, like social media, comments, or any sort of subjective opinion. 2011 was a very successful year for us here at D Pad D Bags, we got our podcast up to 72 episodes, we added a new writer to the blog(YachtCaptianColby), started broadcasting our podcast and gaming content via TwitchTV, and we were nominated for a Most Valuable Blogger award. What’s in a Name?

Ridiculous Japanese RPG A was released on March 9, 2010.  Ridiculous Japanese RPG B was stupidly released just a week later, on March 16, 2010. RPG A features a melodramatic cast of characters with stupid names and stereotypical RPG hair.  RPG B features slightly less annoying names but still enough emo hair to make Fallout Boy blush.  But – get this – RPG B is actually funny. I put a good 50 hours into RPG A without really knowing who the villain really was.  That got a bit frustrating.  I’m 30 hours into RPG B and I likewise have no fucking clue what’s going on, but I find that I don’t give a damn. RPG A is a graphical powerhouse with extremely detailed characters but a rather dull world.  RPG B isn’t as pretty, but the landscape and setting is infinitely more interesting to look...
